Job Description

Overview

The Consultant-Clinical Risk Manager provides clinical risk leadership, expertise, and service to facilitate the management of the overall operation, tactics, and strategy of clinical risk management and patient safety processes. Oversees and coordinates the review of reported risk events, patient adverse events, and sentinel events. Manages ongoing analysis, development and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall safety, efficiency and effectiveness of clinical risk management services and functions. Analyzes track and trend incident report data; identifies organizational process improvement needs and facilitates interdisciplinary efforts to identify necessary patient safety improvements. Participates and assists in insurance-related risk management activities, including claims mitigation. Assumes responsibility to provide leadership in response to patient events of a serious nature.  This is a Hybrid role and does require travel between Bedford and Paoli with occasional trips to Bloomington. 

 Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field required; Nursing preferred.
• Master's Degree is preferred.
• Requires 7-10 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience; quality or safety experience or related is a plus; leadership experience preferred.
• Requires national certification in healthcare risk management (CPHRM) within 4 years of hire.
• Requires knowledge of state and federal laws.
• Requires a demonstrated mastery of Joint Commission standards and State Board of Health requirements relating to Patient Safety/Sentinel Events.
