This Registration Specialist/Patient Care Specialist facilitates patient flow from point of entry to destination for a chronic pain practice in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Our new team member will be joining a team of three and need to have strong verbal and written communication skills to interview patients for appropriate medical information, explain procedure requirements, answer incoming phone calls, document information clearly, and collaborate with those in the office to come alongside patients contending with chronic pain. Daily activities include: collecting pertinent medical records, utilizing knowledge of procedure requirements, getting authorizations from insurance, and scheduling patients. All patient activities are done over the phone and remotely; there is no in-person patient interaction, and this position works a hybrid (office/home) schedule. A successful team member must be flexible, adaptable, compassionate, precise, able to take initiative and work independently but also collaboratively. Individual must possess strong critical thinking skills and desire to be part of a team that seeks to have fun while providing excellent patient care.
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of relevant experience in a health care setting preferred
Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred
Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
