Overview
The Director, Community Health, Community Benefit & Health Policy will be responsible for developing and successfully implementing the strategy, operational work plan, and key activities of community benefit across the IU Health system (all hospital entities & regions) and the communities we serve. The leader will also be responsible for the successful planning and implementation of the community health needs assessment, as well as community benefit related data collection, reporting, accounting, monitoring, evaluating, and leading of implementation plans per federal guidelines. The leader will utilize data to make strategic recommendations for the Community Health division and IU Health system to meet the needs of the greater community.
In addition, the leader will also be responsible for researching, developing, recommending, benchmarking, analyzing, and supporting implementation of internal policies as well as external/community health and/or public policy initiatives as it relates to the community health priorities, the social determinants of health and upstream work and impact on health and social outcomes. The leader will help create, monitor and support the implementation of an advocacy & legislative agenda, as well as a robust anchor institution strategy in collaboration with the government affairs team and other key stakeholders. The Community Health priorities are as follows:
The leader will report to the VP, Community Health Operations and will have project management support to lead the work. The leader will also work alongside other Community Health division directors, health equity leaders, various IU Health department leaders, and external stakeholders in a collaborative format to accomplish the work and achieve division goals. The leader will be able to effectively lead strategy and operational excellence with influence across the IU Health system and greater community to drive change, alignment, and system and community impact. Other related duties will be assigned as needed.
