Job Description

Overview

 

Triage RN position in office Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., no weekends, no holidays.

Intimate work environment with a small group of supportive providers! Hyped potential: Able to hire new grads and will provide detail orientation.  

The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position performs duties associated with phone triage, symptom management, care coordination and may include direct in- clinic patient care and quality improvement activities. The incumbent assures completeness of ordered procedure and treatments, educates/instructs patients concerning procedures, treatments, and needs, and ensures medical orders are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Telephone nursing care involves the establishment of a nurse-patient relationship and is facilitated by the nursing process.

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. 
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Two years experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
  • Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner.
  • Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
  • Requires ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.
