Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a School Nurse opening with Indianapolis Pubic Schools, ROOTS/Positive Supports.
A School Nurse (LPN) knows and uses the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to individual patients. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team. Evaluates response to interventions and patient status toward goal achievement. Accepts delegated nursing measures for which he or she knows he or she is prepared, qualified and licensed to perform.
Applicants should enjoy working independently and also be capable of utilizing Microsoft Office, EMR, and other technology. Applicants should also be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable with using nursing judgment and decision-making when providing care. The school nurse will be responsible for triaging students as well as providing daily care to students with chronic conditions. The school nurse is also responsible for maintaining immunization compliance as well as aiding the school in state-mandated screenings such as vision screenings.
