Job Description

Overview

Supports the Clinical Supply Chain Manager through clinical research, implementation, analysis, and analytics. Focuses on commodities, low impact physician preference items, system-wide conversions, standardization of commodities and low impact clinical items, substitutions and recalls, capital and purchased services, with goal(s) of contract maximization and compliance; achieving highest clinical value at lowest achievable cost; effective and efficient implementation of decisions. Organizes data and information relevant to specific projects as directed for committee or business case. Assists with the management of MedApproved workflow process and accurate documentation. Serves as a clinical resource to supply chain operations. Responsible for the documentation and coordination of the Nursing Clinical Executive Supply Committees and sub groups. Communicates clinical recommendations and supports implementation to entities and supply chain. Manages clinical reviews and document outcomes and recommendations for commodities, low impact physician preference items, purchased services, and capital equipment. Works with Contracting Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Specialists to coordinate, initiate, and implementation opportunities for standardization and cost reduction. Works collaboratively with suppliers to intake new technology opportunities, validate evidence and other necessary data for analysis. Collaborates with Clinical Effectiveness Council(s) as needed to develop optimal value for IU Health. Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall strategy of supply chain.

 Bachelor's degree in a clinical field required.
• 5 years of experience in a clinical area of healthcare is required, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Strong verbal, written and strategic/analytical skills are required.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint software applications; statistical software applications experience preferred.
• Requires experience in project management, presentation development, analytics, and customer service.
• Must be proficient in the use of Supply Chain business systems and tools.
• May be required to travel to various locations as needed.
