Job Description

Overview

This role will support the surgery scheduling functions for the IUHP Pediatric Ophthalmology clinics.  Duties include, though are not limited to, scheduling surgical procedures, diagnostic tests, therapy services and other medical appointments timely and accurately. May obtain related documentation (e.g., patient information, insurance coverage). Coordinates scheduling with other departments and facilities. Maintains a variety of related records, code charges, etc. and performs related clerical & administrative duties. Prior knowledge of insurance verification and Cerner scheduling is preferable. Knowledge in medical terminology and general anatomy is recommended. Prior experience in a medical office is highly preferred. 

 High School Diploma/GED required.
• Requires 5-7+ years relevant experience; previous administrative experience preferred.
• Experience with matrix organization and complex work environment a plus.
• Requires basic proficiency in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
