Job Description

Overview

This position serves as liaison between Revenue Cycle business operations and Revenue Cycle Information Services to provide technical solutions that effectively meet user needs. Possess expertise in the business unit(s), as well as, an understanding of the IT organization's systems, and capabilities. Analyze the business processes, understand the desired results of requests, compare request against application library to determine if a current solution/application may be a viable solution to avoid redundancy, be able to do a high level technical analysis, and assist in determining best path to desired results. Makes recommendations, and guides the customer to an agreeable solution keeping in line with IS and IU Health strategies. Provides limited technical support and system maintenance and operational tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration; Healthcare Administration; Information Services preferred; or equivalent experience. Requires good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products. Requires in-depth knowledge of Revenue Cycle processes and information systems.
  • In-depth understanding of all charge services applications (AMT, PKE/PKS, CMC, CCE, CHED, Cerner) and how they work together
  • In-depth understanding of IUH organization structure - knows what department/teams/contacts to reach out to and when
  • In-depth understanding of team processes, policies, and procedures
  • High level understanding of the "why" behind our current application builds to speak to technical questions that may come up and impact design decisions
  • Understanding of RCIS change control processes
  • High level understanding of upstream and downstream systems and how they impact charging
  • High level understanding of correct charge capture processes and workflows
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, quality focus, and analytical skills.
  • Requires the ability to take initiative and meet objectives.
  • Requires the ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
  • Requires the ability to maintain confidential communication and use judgment and discretion.
  • Requires general consulting skill, process improvement, customer relationship skills, reporting skills, and technical zeal.
  • Requires the ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Requires self-motivation with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Requires willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
  • High level understanding of upstream clinical workflow that drives/impacts charges
