Job Description

Overview

Indiana University Health adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and aligns with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Apply for a Engineer Information Services role with IU Health! The hours will be M-F approx 8-5pm with some weekend and on-call duties and will be a hybrid role with 2 days onsite (Indianapolis) per week and other days being remote! This will be part of the IS Infrastructure Operations department within the Data Center Operations team.

The Engineer- Information Services fulfills customer requirements via design/build/test/troubleshoot/document activities for enterprise-class datacenter computing hardware, software, networking tools and platforms. Reviews and evaluates the newest technologies & provides feedback for how to best configure and operate. Analyzes proposed solution architecture and suggests practical amendments as appropriate.

Other duties include but not limited to:

  • Interact with the customers internal and external on troubleshooting problems encountered during installation, maintenance, and configuration of IU Health’s infrastructure.
  • Maintain our hardware and software used by the team for administrative purposes.
  • An ability to provide able solutions for the unexpected troubleshooting problems.
  • Possess knowledge about recovery and back-up processes, administration, and security
  • A good rapport with fellow co-workers and end users of our systems.
  • The ability to maintain a patient and calm attitude to confront day to day problems encountered.

Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 0-3 years of experience required (preferably using Windows Server OSes, Vmware Virtualization experience, Ticketing System experience, Linux experience. Customer relations experience).
• Healthcare, health insurance and health providers experience and understanding of processes is preferred.
• Working & demonstrable familiarity/experience with hypervisors and scripting is required.
