Job Description

Overview

The Intermediate HRIS Consultant partners with customers to successfully execute business objectives. Manages Human Resources (HR) systems which support talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, total rewards, and clinical operation teams. Contributes and participates in the maintenance and development of the HR systems. Applies knowledge and expertise to analyze data requests, create and modify reports to produce required data, provide analytics, participate in the development of new solutions, and troubleshoot resolutions of problems. Partners and collaborates with internal and external departments, maintains data standards, and ensures comprehensive documentation of processes and reports. Evaluates projects, requests, and issues from a global human capital perspective. Participates on project teams and contributes to the implementation of HR initiatives which support the business from an information technology perspective.

Analysis - Analyzes problems and opportunities as they arise. Takes into account all fact-based and stakeholder information available in order to evaluate alternatives and make sound recommendations. Asks appropriate follow up questions to determine the root cause of the problem. Takes a holistic approach to problem-solving by looking at the big picture. Uses reporting tools such as SQL to gather data and provides analytics to customers, including studying historical data to research trends, analyzing the effects of decisions or events, or evaluating the performance of a given tool or scenario. Produces a high-quality analysis focused on accuracy, data validation, and attention to detail.

Communication - Shares thoughts and information in a clear, concise and professional manner, in both oral and written communication formats. Demonstrates active listening and seeks further information to ensure clarity and understanding. Promptly responds to requests for information and works to proactively think through next steps and anticipate potential issues, requests, or business needs. Openly shares knowledge and expertise. Frequently communicates with customers to keep them apprised of process requests.

Critical Thinking - Leverages curiosity and insights to explore rationale behind decision-making. Connects pieces of information from various sources to improve problem solving capabilities and recommendations. Actively distinguishes questions, problems, and conflict. Combines existing knowledge and on-the-job experiences to ensure best practices are being implemented in day-to-day work.

Execution - Addresses problems directly and implements objectives effectively. Produces on time, high-quality work deliverables. Applies basic project management principles, and applies logical, consistent and organized standard of work practices. Considers the thoughts and ideas of others in decision making and project execution, remaining flexible to ensure teams work collaboratively. Demonstrates time managements skills, proactively communicates any issues that may arise. Exhibits willingness and ability to learn new products and accept business changes.

Independent Judgment - Exhibits sound professional judgment and diplomacy in handling unexpected problems and frequent interruptions that require immediate action or attention. Escalates issues appropriately in a timely and effective manner. Manages workload in an efficient manner to meet target dates without direct oversight from leader. Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills by suggesting solutions or alternative routes to issues that arise.

Ethical Practice - Maintains confidentiality as appropriate, earns trust and respect of others, and exhibits behaviors that express the ethical practice of a healthcare organization. Demonstrates thorough and logical thought processes to support actions / recommendations. Uses information only for business purposes as it relates to HR projects and reporting.

Project Management - Implements solutions based on guidelines provided by leadership; appropriately resolves issues within project plan parameters; identifies patterns and potential underlying issues. Provides thoughtful suggestions based on consideration of various pros and cons.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Administration, related field, or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
  • Requires fluency in report design, development, analysis, and validation.
  • Experience with matrix organization and complex work environment preferred.
  • Requires experience exhibiting professional judgment and diplomacy in handling unexpected problems and frequent interruptions.
  • Requires previous experience in managing and participating on project teams.
  • Requires advanced proficiency in open database connectivity (ODBC) reporting.
  • Requires advanced proficiency in Microsoft office (emphasis on Excel and Access) and Crystal Reports or comparable reporting tools.
