The Sr Technical Accountant participates in the implementation of new accounting standards / interpretations within company. This includes communication and discussion of updates to / with managerial reporting, external auditors and senior management. Interacts and explains accounting concepts to range of stakeholders, including non-finance or non-technical personnel Exercises judgment in time pressured accounting conclusions. Leads or participates in other accounting projects when required. Supports finance colleagues in interpreting and applying financial accounting principles. Reviews the work of others where technical accounting advice is needed (e.g. footnote disclosures, potential bond structuring, etc.) . Reviews of monthly journal entries. Reviews footnotes for U.S. GAAP financial statements. Works with the auditors as necessary to resolve complex audit issues as they arise with proactive communication and collaboration on sensitive subjects. Proactively help the team implement better ways of working within systems, spreadsheets, etc.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Requires 2+ years of relevant financial and operational analysis experience.

Requires analytical experience working with complex data sets.

Requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products/applications; strong Microsoft Excel experience required; relational database and financial or operational modeling experience a plus.
