Clinical Educator

Description

This position is responsible to develop, implement, and coordinate educational programs for effective onboarding, retention, and professional development focused on supporting an engaged workforce and exemplary patient outcomes. Assures compliance with best practices, regulatory and policy requirements. Works closely with and supports all members of the West Central nursing education team as well as the facility team. This position is responsible for facility Employee Health Office functions, including but not limited to coordinating the facility FIT testing, immunizations, and follow up on injured employees, as well as the coordination of the facility Tissue, Eye, and Organ donation program.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Indiana required.
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience with skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties as assigned to the position.
  • Education Coordinator: At least 5 years clinical experience is preferred with progressively more responsible leadership assignments in the administrative, education, and clinical areas of nursing.
  • Membership in the Indiana Society for Healthcare Education and Training (ISHET) is recommended.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately.
  • Must be oriented to detail, yet be able to coordinate a number of activities according to priority.
  • Basic understanding of infection control.
  • Knowledge of computer software applications.
