Director-Diagnostic Imaging

Description

This position is responsible for providing administrative decision-making, leadership and strategic planning including the efficient and productive use of personnel, material and financial resources within the Diagnostic Imaging department for the assigned facility. This position is also responsible for the efficient and purposeful integration of services with other areas and emerging delivery systems. Exercises management responsibility over functions that apply uniformly across Diagnostic Imaging relating to the clinical aspect of the facility. Additionally exercises management responsibility over functions of non-clinical hospital aspects ensuring efficient services designed to meet the needs of patients, staff, physicians and students. This role works closely with the clinical leadership within Diagnostic Imaging, including the Medical Director and Geographic and Division Chiefs, as well as both peer and senior level administration throughout the organization, and referring clinicians.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Requires a Master's degree in Business Administration or related field; or equivalent knowledge and skill.
  • Requires progressive experience in Diagnostic Radiology; Nuclear Medicine; or related experience; in a healthcare institution; including experience in radiology management.
  • Requires knowledge of state and national regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Requires the ability to lead quality improvement initiatives.
  • Requires the ability to plan and manage the utilization of resources.
  • Requires the ability to facilitate and lead work groups.
  • Requires ability to apply the organization personnel policies and procedures.
  • Requires knowledge of state and federal laws relative to assigned area.
  • Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires ability to communicate sensitive issues with all levels of employees/management.
  • Requires strong customer service skills.
  • Requires the ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
  • Requires the ability to take initiative and meet objectives.
  • Requires a high level of interpersonal; problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Requires an American Registry of Radiology Technology Registration.
