The Director of Quality and Safety is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Infection Prevention (IP) Program(s) within the Region, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, medical staff and senior leadership. Works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure measurable improvement in health outcomes, prevention of medical errors, and reduction of patient harm. Directs, facilitates, and influences the alignment of clinical quality, patient safety, and infection prevention improvement efforts within the Region by promoting adoption of local and national benchmarking for best practices. Ensures active regional representation and engagement in IU Health System quality, patient safety and infection prevention initiatives.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Requires current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Indiana.

  • Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) is preferred.
  • Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience. Experience with HCAHPS, TJC or Critical Access/Rural healthcare is preferred.
